From winning the National Enterprise Awards in 2016, the award recognised us, formally Big Red Barn, as one of Ireland’s leading emerging enterprises for its innovative portable modular event structures.
National Ploughing Championships
September 2017 seen the Big Red Barn’s first appearance at the National Ploughing Championships. We set up 3 stalls (Big Green Barn, Big Red Barn & Irish Limousin Society). Showcasing our expertise in modular event structures. We were also lucky enough to win the Micro Enterprise Business Award in 2017.
Expanding business
As the business grew from modular event structures to modular housing units, we massively grew over the years that followed, from our new truck in to hiring our first in house Chartered Engineer in 2020. This was a massive step to slowly turning the business towards our Factory Built Homes.
Factory Built Home at the NPC
- In September 2019, we launched our first Factory Built Home at the National Ploughing Championships. This proved a huge success as we returned the following year (2020).
- In 2019 we won the Manufacturing or Exporter Business Award. This award symbolised our growth.
Inishturk Island & Rebranding
- As the business was rapidly expanding, June 2022, Big Red Barn brought its first 2 homes to Inishturk Island. With our luxurious homes starting to be built nationwide. These houses are constantly proving our quality & longevity.
- August 2022 seen the complete rebranding of our business as we launched Byrne Rapid Build Ltd. (BRB Homes). This seen our spacious, modern, Factory Built homes become our main product with the modular homes taking the back seat.

- The year of 2023 was the year of growth at Byrne Rapid Build Ltd. as we rapidly grew our staff & fleet.
Excellence in Innovation Award
In May 2024 we were selected as the winner of Excellence in Innovation Award for modular homes (factory-built homes). This has shown our dedication, experience & innovation throughout the years.
Further Awards & extension
- We also won the Innovation for Impact award at the Mayo Business Awards for 2026. This has shown our experience in a new way of designing, manufacturing or delivering homes. Whilst also addressing a significant challenge within the construction or housing sector.
- In 2026 we are keeping busy as always supplying quality, lavish homes all across the country with our very experienced & dedicated team which is ever growing. We have plans to extend our offices here in Swinford, Co Mayo this year by adding 5 new office facilities.
